Instagram Stories has dropped a new milestone. The Instagram Stories where users can post videos and photos on Instagram that disappear after 24 hours, has rolled out a new way for brands to communicate with followers.
Businesses will now be able to use the new feature to create an interactive poll to ask a question and receive answers from customers in real time. The Poll results will be available for 24 hours, just like the story itself, and marketers will be able to see the number of votes each option received as well as who voted. The process is really an easy one; by use of swiping up where you'd get stickers, embellished versions of the hashtag bar, and more. You open up the bar, find the "poll" option, and then you can add your question above and keep "yes or no," or you can add your own responses like "Like or Dislike."
Instagram said in a blog post, Consumers can use the new tool to help choose between two options such as what to wear or where to have dinner etc. This option will go a long way to aid businesses on the platform.
In June, Facebook's Global Head of Sales Carolyn Everson said, the Facebook-owned network announced that Instagram Stories has 250 million daily active users, and of those a third are businesses, The Stories feature was added in August 2016 and an advertising function to Stories added in January, where five-second photos or 15-second videos could appear in between Instagram Story user content.
